Office Depot donated 1500 sack packs to help our local students return to school ready to learn! All sack packs were distributed to schools in time for  the first day of school.  Thank you for getting on the bus!

Thank you to Mercato merchants who held a back to school fashion show to benefit The Education Foundation on August 3rd. The Education Foundation sold raffle tickets during the Fashion Show for a chance to win fabulous prizes donated by Mercato’s merchants. All proceeds from the raffle drawing benefited The Education Foundation.

State Farm agents are collecting school supplies at their offices now through August 7, 2012 to help hundreds of needy families and children in our community.  All school supplies collected at Collier County State Farm offices will be donated to The Education Foundation of Collier County.  For information and locations, please call 786-394-9688.

Arthrex is donating 25 HP All in One Wireless Scanner/Copier/Printers to The Education Foundation for the 2012 Take Stock in Children graduates to take with them as they head off to college.  Thank you Arthrex for getting on the bus!

Parents, if you are looking for activities for your child this summer, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office is hosting SUMMERfest which is free to all Collier County students.  The events start June 8th and are held most week days throughout the summer.  Click here for more details and a schedule of events.

150 third grade students at Pelican Marsh Elementary and their parents packaged food for Meals of Hope.  This is the fifth year Pelican Marsh students and volunteers have participated in this event to support the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Collier County Parks and Recreation and Collier County Public Schools’ summer meals program.

The students of Poinciana Elementary raised over $10,000 to aid pediatric cancer research and to promote literacy by operating a school-wide lemonade stand.  The lemonade was made with lemons grown in their garden, which was made possible by a grant from The Education Foundation.  Poinciana won the “Great Lemonade War Contest” sponsored by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and was based on the book The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies.
